STAR’s Youth Leadership Mastermind
Overview
Join us for a journey of growth and empowerment in STAR's Youth Leadership Mastermind, exclusively tailored for 8th graders. This intensive four-week program, beginning 18 January 2024, is structured to unfold across consecutive Thursdays, each week building on the last to provide a comprehensive learning experience in leadership and public speaking.
Program Structure:

Session 1: Building Confidence in Public Speaking
Activities focused on breaking barriers in communication, encouraging students to find confidence in their voice.

Session 2: The Art of Storytelling
Interactive storytelling workshops, enabling students to weave emotion and facts into a compelling narrative.

Session 3: Introduction to Leadership Principles
Introduction to foundational leadership principles, inspiring students to envision their leadership journey.

Session 4: Self-Awareness and Emotional Intelligence
Exercises to introspect and recognize emotional subtleties in oneself and others.
Session 5: Character Building and Ethics
Discussions around real-world ethical dilemmas, guiding students to build a strong moral compass
Culminating Project: "Leaders of Tomorrow"
At the end of the four weeks, participants will undertake a capstone project combining their learned public speaking and leadership skills. This project involves:

Students will conceptualize and plan a small-scale community initiative, showcasing their leadership skills. They will be responsible for planning, organizing, and initiating the groundwork for their project.

Each participant will articulate their project's vision, plans, and societal impact through a 5-minute presentation. This exercise will demonstrate their public speaking prowess and their ability to inspire and persuade an audience.

Post-presentation, participants will receive constructive feedback from peers and facilitators. Outstanding projects and presentations will also receive special recognition.
